Bathroom

(Newport Beach)

This project was built at an extensive job site in Newport Beach, CA. The house was built in 1959 and this bathroom (much like the rest of the house) had not been stripped down to the studs for remodeling. In obvious need of a remodel, ICINC was contracted to update this bathroom to reflect the mid-century modern features of the time period in which the house was built.

Believe it or not, the bathroom was designed and completed in full by ICINC. The mirror is actually for a bedroom but was customized to stand off the wall in order to be able to put LED’s behind it (LED’s transform into 25 various colors). In addition, the overhead shower enclosure was demoed and the headroom was heightened to give this bathroom a look that made it appear twice its size. White was chosen as the primary color due to the bathroom’s proximity on the property: it didn’t get a lot of sunlight through its main window. In fact, we waited to add in the skylight until ICINC was hired to rebuild the roof above the bathroom which gave this space plenty of natural light.
