This is the final section of our three-part bathroom section build in Newport Beach, CA. With this powder room section, the client wanted some very challenging elements created to fill the space. First of all, the bathroom vanity was designed and built solely by ICINC. Unlike traditional vanities which have a 1”-3” space on the left and right of the doors (called a spacer), the owners wanted this vanity to be all door from left to right (see pictures). This left us with about a 1/16” space to allow the door to clear the wall without rubbing or scuffing!
Additionally, they wanted plastic wavy panels on the vanity doors (which had to be seamed together mind you) and a black walnut strip down the middle which had to be waterproofed. One of the hardest elements of the vanity doors came down to the owners request to make the vanity appear “seamless.” And by “seamless” they meant “give the doors the appearance as though there is no actual door seam.” We finally got it done and they couldn’t believe that we implemented every aspect that they required. Finally, the mirror, new vinyl window, back splash tiles, and sconce lights were all customized to fit the space and LED’s were added on the bottom of the vanity toe kick.
